Spektrum is a partner with Carl Zeiss Vision and we are offering the well known Zeiss quality lenses on selected models. Zeiss is using their over 160 years of experience in optics to constantly research and develop new products pushing the envelope of both performance and aesthetics.
The Zeiss lenses ensure perfect visibility in all weathers and thus optimum vision on the mountain. The lenses are all tested at the Carl Zeiss Sunlens laboratories in northern Italy to guarantee clear vision with no prismatic aberrations or distortions as well as complete protection from harmful rays.
An eleveated level of safety and visual comfort – Our Zeiss SONAR lens technology improves your vision in snow-covered terrain in all light conditions. Colours and contrasts are significantly enhanced – even as you’re riding down the mountain at full throttle. The special spectral curve of the tint acts as a blue attenuator, but still allows a portion of the blue light through. Researched and designed to receive all important information from the terrain ahead and from your environment, creating a vastly improved contrast and visual perception. In short -SONAR allows you to read your terrain better.
Photochromic lenses are optical lenses that darken on exposure to specific types of light of sufficient intensity, most commonly ultraviolet (UV) radiation. In the absence of activating light the lenses return to their clear state. Molecules of silver chloride or another silver halide are injected in Spektrum’s photochromic lenses.
The lenses are transparent to visible light without significant ultraviolet component, which is normal for artificial lighting. When exposed to ultraviolet (UV) rays, as in direct sunlight, the molecules undergo a chemical process that causes them to change shape and absorb a significant percentage of the visible light, i.e., they darken.
This process is reversible; once the lens is removed from strong sources of UV rays the silver compounds return to their transparent state.
A durable coating bonded to all Photochromic Revo Blue lenses that repel water from snow, moist or rain. Your vision won’t be blocked by water and snow will slide off with ease. It’s a shield for your lens, protecting it from the world of snow. Water will bead up and disperse without any streaking with your hands. Fingerprint marks are easily wiped clean so you can ride more and worry less about your vision.
Light reflected from surfaces such as a ski slope or water generally is horizontally polarized. This means that, instead of light being scattered in all directions in more usual ways, reflected light generally travels in a more horizontally oriented direction. This creates an annoying and sometimes dangerous intensity of light that we experience as glare.
Polarized lenses reduce glare reflected off roads, bodies of water, snow, and other horizontal surfaces. Polarized lenses cut glare and haze so your eyes are more comfortable and you can see better. Polarized lenses contain a special filter that blocks this type of intense reflected light, reducing glare.
